About this process

Staff Council and HR review

The Staff Council is a body that was formed in 2024 at the request of the President. The Council includes four representatives from the non-Leadership Team staff, the HR Generalist, and the Staff Liaison to the Board of Trustees. Its purpose is to listen to and share staff feedback and concerns.

While the Staff Council is an important resource and available to receive verbal feedback, the HR department also offers staff a way to share feedback or concerns through Staff Voice.

Feedback submitted here is handled by HR. Responses are only shared with the Staff Council if the staff member explicitly requests it, and Staff Council sharing is framed as a de-identified summary whenever possible.

The current Staff Council members are: Johnny Vega (2024-26), Cherri Westhouse (2024-26), Margie Wade (2025-27), Hannah Barker Nickolay (2025-27), Katlyn DeVries, Staff Liaison to the Board (2024-27), and Yajaira Ruiz, HR Generalist (permanent member).

Submissions are reviewed by HR and categorized for appropriate follow-up.

HR confirms whether the report allows follow-up and whether Staff Council sharing was authorized.
